Our thoughts on this book

You know what? I have two words for Walden: SHUT. UP. This book was a pain to read. It went into excruciating detail about every little thing the characters come across in the book. It’s meant to be a utopian novel exploring how human behaviour is determined by external variables (the environment, clothes, jobs, money, etc) and by manipulating these variables, you can improve society.

The operative word in that last sentence is that it was *meant* to be utopian. It put me in a dystopian state because I was sad that this book ever got published.
