This was my second time reading Take Today, a book about modern society exploring why and how professionals are ‘dropping out’. The book is deep with concepts and loaded with quotes, headlines, and poems. The style is like a modern day internet blog, which is exceptional considering Take Today was published in 1972.

A key takeaway is that with the introduction of each new technology there is a change in the ‘rim spin’ of the Earth in terms of information and networking. The book discusses the relationship between ‘figure’ and ‘ground’ on many levels.

I would highly recommend this prescient book for anyone looking to expand their mind, especially for those developing a social or business philosophy. You learn something new on almost every page. I would read this book again because there is more to glean.
