A Creative Hub in the Junction

Growing our team and office space

In March 2024, the talented FWI Media team joined our Pixel Dreams Team, bringing our clients more fire-power than ever. As part of joining the larger team, FWI’s west-end studio, colloquially known as “5A” at Pixel Dreams, became the third working location for our operations in Toronto.

Creating Spaces to Dream

The studio is a living, breathing creative hub. Big projects require both inspiration and focus. That’s why the interior design of our west-end studio is meant to cultivate a sense of peace and productivity. The studio is structured with distinct zones for collaboration and solo work, as well as space for filming, gear staging and inventory, and livestream capabilities. This is also the main server station for Motion’s project and footage backup, a vital part of the video process infrastructure.

The conference room, which is painted a bright teal, is designed to foster deep conversations and inspire productive meetings. Meanwhile, the lounge area encourages relaxation and casual brainstorming with a cheerful palette and soft textures. Our east-facing windows flood the space with natural light throughout the day. To help balance creativity with privacy, we applied prism-patterned frosted vinyl to the windows that casts subtle rainbow hues across the space—creating both visual inspiration and functional screening.

Whiteboards line the walls, ready for impromptu ideation or planning sessions. Gifted fine art and unique mementos from collaborations and travel jobs line the walls. There are also ample live plants throughout, which add vibrancy to the workspace along with creating more breathable air.

A Production and Post Hub

The studio is a fully functional film studio and mini-post house. A selection of our most-in-use gear and travel equipment is stored on-site, while our partnership with a neighbouring creator provides access to a wide collection of production cameras and equipment. There is one fully-fleshed out editing suite for the “serious editor,” and access to a myriad of tools for post production. Having full shoot and edit capacity in-house is one of the reasons Pixel Dreams can work with speed and efficiency on client work.

Being part of the Community

The building and surrounding area are a place where start-ups, artists, and innovative businesses of all kinds have gathered. Our neighbours are incredibly inspiring and we feel the energy of the area when we walk through the halls, grab coffee from down the street, or jet out for a meal at one of the newly opened restaurants nearby. Being in this area is keeping us in the know about what’s happening in culture within the city because it is one of the places where artistry, entrepreneurship, and technology meet in a big way.
