Excitement and anticipation filled the air at Pixel Dreams’ first company-wide event of 2024, as we gathered to ring in the Year of the Dragon. The fifth animal in the Chinese zodiac, the dragon symbolizes charisma, intelligence, and power. This get-together was our chance to reflect on these qualities as a team, while looking forward to luck and prosperity in the year ahead.

Reunion and Renewal
Lunar New Year is a time for setting intentions and strengthening bonds. Colleagues who typically collaborate across screens were laughing and sharing stories, surrounded by the soft glow of silk lanterns and the vibrant swirl of colourful fabrics. The calligraphy station was a hub of heartfelt expression, where everyone penned their hopes and dreams for the year ahead.
The Feast
The feast is a central part of a Lunar New Year celebration and many of our teammates contributed homemade dishes to share. From the delicately wrapped Vietnamese bánh chưng in banana leaves to the sizzling Japanese Tempura shrimp, our meal celebrated the rich tapestry of backgrounds that make up our Pixel Dreams family.
Dressed in Tradition
Our team looked incredible in traditional attire. Each outfit, adorned with intricate patterns and bold colours, honoured the heritage of Lunar New Year celebrations across Asia.
Party Mode
As the night progressed, karaoke elevated the celebration from festive to exuberant. Classics from ABBA and the latest pop anthems reverberated through the halls of PD Castle. A spirited rendition of Andy Lau’s “Gong Xi Fa Cai” ignited the crowd.
Evening’s End
Midnight arrived and the evening concluded. As we said our goodbyes, we took a moment to share gratitude and appreciate the true meaning of our gathering. It was a powerful affirmation of our diversity and unity. Together, we are ready to embrace the challenges and triumphs of the Year of the Dragon.
