Pixel Dreams’ annual Summer Summit took centre stage on July 23, 2025, bringing over 50 team members, advisers, and international colleagues together for a day of high-impact discussions, collaboration, and celebration. Held at Taboo Resort’s Muskoka-Joseph Room, this year’s summit delivered elevated production quality and meaningful team connection.

Raising the Bar on Production

Past summits relied on minimal tech (a single webcam and shared microphones). This year, the production team went all-in:

  • Dedicated microphones for each speaker
  • Freelance camera operators to capture multiple angles
  • Live video switching for a polished viewing experience
  • Professional audio mixing for clarity and consistency

The setup was designed not just for the room, but for creating high-quality recorded assets to share with the team and beyond

A Full Day of Programming

The summit unfolded in three content blocks across the day.

  • Morning Sessions: Leadership updates, strategic vision presentations, and key departmental reports.
  • Midday: Breakout discussions and collaborative workshops aimed at problem-solving and cross-team learning.
  • Afternoon: Culture-focused talks, recognitions, and open Q&A with the leadership team.

Lunch and coffee breaks were hosted in-room to maximise networking time.

A Celebration Over Dinner

After the final session wrapped at 4:35 pm, attendees checked into their rooms before reconvening for a formal group dinner in the conference room . The evening featured:

  • I+A Awards presented by Libby and Erica
  • Trivia Game Show on Pixel Dreams’ mission, vision, values, and lore, hosted by Peter and Daniel
  • Interactive table activities, encouraging cross-team engagement

The dinner followed a “wedding style” seating plan, blending structure with a relaxed atmosphere

The Human Element

While the logistics were ambitious, project co-leads Peter Sugawara and Chi Nguyen made it happen — from securing the venue to coordinating international travel and ensuring the smallest details were in place. As Jenn Ha-Trang Nguyen put it:

This was the best summer summit we’ve ever had. Not because of the venue, schedule, or food, which were all excellent, but because it reflected Pixel Dreams’ culture in its most condensed form, and the years invested in bringing the right group of people together. It felt right, and it felt great.

Looking Ahead

Summer Summit 2025 showed what’s possible when careful planning meets a focus on people. The combination of elevated production, purposeful programming, and cultural celebration created a blueprint for future gatherings.

With its mix of insight, connection, and celebration, this year’s summit will be remembered as a defining moment in Pixel Dreams’ story.
