On a beautiful July evening in Toronto, the Pixel Dreams team joined long-time partners from Salesforce Canada for a night of music, lakeside vibes, and connection. What began months earlier as a casual conversation over dinner turned into an unforgettable night of shared nostalgia at Budweiser Stage with Nelly, and special guests Eve & Ja Rule.
From Dinner Plans to Concert Lights
The idea sparked last December, when both teams gathered for a pre-holiday dinner. Talk turned to music, and someone mentioned Nelly’s upcoming Toronto show. Within minutes, calendar invites were flying and ticket searches were underway.
Fast forward to July. The evening began with a happy hour at Liberty Soho in Liberty Village. Then, with the summer sun still high, colleagues from across Canada, and visiting members of our Vietnam team, made their way to the waterfront venue.
The Lineup and the Energy
The concert opened with Eve, and then Ja Rule, bringing back the anthems of the early 2000s. Later, under the city skyline, Nelly took the stage. He performed hit after hit to an audience that knew every word.
That’s when the night’s deeper magic revealed itself. As Elliott AKA Elevate from our account team put it:
When you work with clients, you get to know who they are. When you go out to a concert with them, you get to know who they once were. It was awesome to hear the Senior Manager of Strategic Events & Partnerships and Innovation Programs singing along to an early 2000’s banger!
In that moment, job titles fell away. Everyone was just a fan, a friend, someone with whom we share history.
Beyond the Boardroom
For Jules AKA Heart, visiting from our Vietnam office, the night was an unexpected highlight: “This definitely wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card, but it ended up being an unexpected highlight. Sometimes relationship-building happens best with a live soundtrack.”
Tracy AKA Present, from the Salesforce Canada account team, sees lasting value in nights like these: “You see each other as human beings, not just professional titles. In a relaxed setting, trust grows, conversations open up, and new ideas surface. These are things that might never happen in a formal meeting.”
Why It Matters
These festivities were a reminder that great partnerships grow in the spaces between formal agendas. They grow in laughter over dinner, in shared nostalgia, in singing along to the songs that shaped us.
Forming bonds with the people behind the titles deepens trust and cements a shared sense of purpose that unlocks magic. Sometimes, all it takes is a chorus everyone remembers.
