The role

This is an opportunity for a writer (or a strategist/editor/marketer/creative-type) who can turn a phrase, pack that phrase into a carry-on, and get it past TSA.

You’ll support your team in interpreting client needs, crafting thoughtful, effective messaging, and delivering compelling copy across a range of formats — from short-form video to display ads, social media promos to whitepapers, slide decks to public transit takeovers, and more.

This role reports to the Creative Director.

  • An affinity for business topics, whether that’s emerging tech, thought leadership, or how businesses tell their stories
  • A genuine fascination with ephemera, deep cuts, and the stories they tell
  • A weirdness that is all your own

This sample can be virtually anything: a display ad, an article, or something with zero commercial value that you feel good about.

Candidates who fit the bill will be asked to fill out a questionnaire and do a short creative copywriting test.

Special advisory: We’re not afraid of AI at Pixel Dreams. Far from it. But we do have high expectations for how it is used. If we can tell (and believe we can), you shouldn’t be using it.
 

What is Pixel Dreams anyway?

We’re a small but thriving marketing and creative agency, continuing to grow our team with an epic purpose and equally epic clients. Many agencies pride themselves on their storytelling, but it’s genuinely baked into our DNA (ask about our children’s books).

We are innovative souls who create print, online, video, and event experiences, working with clients who love us (and we love them).

Our studios are in downtown Toronto (Queen St W), The Junction, North York (Yonge & Sheppard), and Hanoi, Vietnam (a bit of a commute).
 

Time and Place

We recognize that everyone’s life responsibilities are different, and accommodate a flexible working model.

However, we expect our successful candidates to maintain core business hours and be in our Downtown Toronto or North York workspaces 3 days a week.
 

Compensation

From $50,000 to $100,000, negotiable and relative to demonstrated capabilities and competencies. We also offer a full benefits package, generous vacation allocation and a positive working environment.
